Sometimes a software package designed for retail shops doesn't work well with the unusual needs of furniture and appliance stores. System Five has been popular with Furniture shops since its inception, and many of its features are tweaked to accomodate their needs.

Furniture lasts a long time, and it's not always easy to keep archives of something a customer bought six years ago. System Five never forgets, and all your invoices can be recalled quickly. You can bring them up by searching for invoice number, the customer details, or even the product they bought.

Selling furniture or appliances often involves selling things you don't have in stock, which complicate the handling of serial numbers. System Five handles this gracefully, not demanding a serial number be entered or chosen from stock until the customer takes posession of the goods.

System Five can handle the preparation and assembly too, and is aware of the status of your products from start to finish. At a glance, it will show you if any have been ordered, how many, from who, and when they're expected to arrive. It can allocate incoming stock intelligently, so that the right customers get the right order. It can also handle customers buying the goods in a showroom, and collecting them from a warehouse, and even indicate its location for the warehouse staff.

Special (Tag) Orders

If you sell or take orders for custom made furniture, you will love System Five's special ordering features. Create a sales order, add the customers name and details, the item being ordered with all the details of the special design, fabric or colours etc, take a deposit to validate the order if you wish, and this information stays with the order as it progresses. All is tracked under the sales order number/customer name, through the purchase order, receiving of stock, and updating of the original sales order when the goods arrive on your landing dock. All you have to do then is phone the customer, arrange delivery, and convert the newly updated original order to a completed invoice, which will be properly costed and completed.

Delivery Scheduling

When completing a sales invoice simply click on the Deliveries tab, and enter in the time, location and comments for the actual delivery of the goods. The integrated delivery scheduler makes keeping track of booked deliveries and special instructions, who, what, where and when for each driver and truck a snap.

Special Comments & Instructions

Special instructions are a very large part of the furniture trade, Windward System Five has the ability to comment on each line of the sales order invoice making common items unique to that invoice. In addition, detailed comments can be entered on the invoice header assisting in clarifying the terms of sale or special requirements of that customer, all comments can be printed on the copy, or optionally only on the warehouse copy, not on the customer copy.

Fabric & Finish Selection

Fabric and finish varies from item to item, for example you may have a GR444 lounge, which has several fabric and material optons, and varied wood trim options. Simply design the optional lists for each item and when the item is sold, the salesperson will be presented with the two lists in order, at which time the make the selections which will appear on the sales order. Different combinations can affect or change the final price of the original item, or be only a non priced option.

Coded Tag Pricing

To assist in the sales process, and ensure that all information is available to the salesperson on the showroom floor, System Five can print detailed labels which have all the basic information needed, plus a coded number which indicates several key pieces of information needed when negotiating the final price. The Year, Month and Cost the item at the time it was received and placed on the floor, is securely coded so that information can be interpreted by the salesperson, and not the customer.
